The HK Varma plugs have been manufactured successfully since 1994, and they have been included in Happy Angler’s selection throughout our ten years of operation. All HK Varma plugs are handmade in the village of Lehmo in Finland, and each plug is tank-tested before packaging. The plugs feature high-quality chemically sharpened hooks. Kuha Kalkkaro 13 cm, color 4 “Kalsari”:
This model and colorway were used on May 10, 2013 to catch what was at the time the record zander in Finland! The fish weighed an astonishing 14.095 kilograms, and during the same trip, Toni Ikävalko and Eero Mattila also caught a giant zander weighing 12.770 kilograms. Proven to be effective, this plug for large zander is an indisputable addition to the giftpack! This colorway is often referred to as “Kalsari”.

Kuha Kalkkaro 13 cm, color 133 “Lapinkulta”:
The best-selling zander plug from HK Varma! As this plug is the safest of choices, its inclusion in the giftpack was an easy decision. In addition to zander, this plug is also effective for pike. Perfectly effective for zander trolling, it is no wonder that this colorway is highly popular throughout Finland! This colorway is widely known as “Lapinkulta”.

Sintti Kalkkaro 6 cm, color 199 “Hilemuikku”:
Hannu’s personal favorite! The plug maker’s personal favorite for zander, perch, and pike! Do not be fooled by the small size, as Sintti has fooled plenty of large fish over the years. You can trust Hannu’s choice, as it is backed by decades of trolling experience, a Finnish championship, and a keen eye developed over tens of thousands of hours of trolling.
