For each set sold, Rapala will donate 2 euro (VAT 0 %) to FFRF’s Haukitehdas project. In addition, Rapala Rahasto will fund the creation of a pike factory directly. The Finnish pike populations have diminished alarmingly in some areas of the country. The spawning grounds of pike have been reduced due to waterside construction and dredging. Rapala Rahasto, Hauenkalastajat, and the Finnish Federation for Recreational Fishing (FFRF) have decided to take action before it’s too late and support the creation of pike factories.
Pike factories consist of areas that have been restored to a suitable condition as a pike spawning ground. A pike factory could be located at any restored wetland area, which also improves the condition of runoff water and provides a habitat for birds and pike, of course.
